All my life I've been intrigued by the American Hot Rod. Born in the 50's - I think I was 4 or 5 when I first laid my hand upon a cool little rod. Playing outside for hours on end with my cars & trucks was the highlight of my days. I used to build them, trade them, paint them & even blow them up. I had models from all US/Makes, Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Etc. Those days the American Hot Rod ruled the roads as well as the imaginations of many children & adults alike. Through the years, I've been able to acquire only a few "Real" Hot Rods mainly because of the cost involved. My first car was indeed a 1957 Chevy 2door hardtop. Me & me father bought it from a courier co., she was a basket case. We drove it home on a lawn chair we had to put inside to sit on. She ran like a top & the body was in nice shape, but no interior. I was 14 yrs. old & my dreams came true that day. As I turned 16, the 57 Chevy was completed by me & dad to absolute beauty. New interior,new paint, new wheels/tires, She was "new" - I drove her with pride ! - Now that I'm older & things are just as tight, I'm building all sorts of American Hot Rods in a smaller scale that anyone can afford. My passion is still as strong if not stronger.
